We will continue to post calls-for-papers, details of funding and scholarships, and art, and art history-related events both in Melbourne and elsewhere. You can now quickly find these organised according to categories by way of the lower menu at the top of the page. We encourage our readers to send in details of events, calls-for-papers and funding that may be of interest.
Content: Opinion, Reviews and Commentary
The new website will post reviews of new art, art history, architecture, and garden history books as well reviews of exhibitions both in Melbourne and from around Australia. We will also be publishing opinion pieces and writing about specific works of art, architecture, sculpture or garden design in our new ‘Opinion’ and What are you looking at? sections. Our ‘Foreign Correspondent’ section will have reviews and reports from art historians and curators from around the world. If you have something to contribute to these posting please contact the editor of the category in question. The first posts in these new categories will appear progressively over coming days.
Subscriptions
To keep up to date with the Melbourne Art Network there are a range of subscription options that allow you to choose how you wish to be be notified of a new post and you can also select specific categories you are interested in. You can continue to follow us on Facebook and Twitter. You can subscribe to our RSS feed for all or some post categories. You can also receive all or some posts via email.
Everyone who subscribed to our email list on the old site should still be subscribed. If not, please re-subscribe or contact the webmaster. Please check that the emails do not end up in your spam/junk mail. Note that you now have the option to receive only those categories you are most interested in (see category list below). In order to do so you need to register. The ‘subscribe’ and ‘register ‘fields appear on the right column of every page. See the ‘Subscribe‘ page for further details.
Pages
On the main (upper) menu bar you will find various pages (not posts) that appeared on the old website, but these have been developed. In the Melbourne Art Journal pages there are now a full list of articles, details of forthcoming issues, and details of past issues (abstracts for each issue are being added progressively). It is now possible to purchase Melbourne Art Journal online using PayPal. Details of the European Visual Culture Seminar and emaj (electronic melbourne art journal) can also be found on this site.
There is now a new list of Art History Resources and Links with details of useful Image Databases, sources of Funding and Scholarships, and other Art History Tools. These list will be added to over time and we encourage our readers to submit links that may be useful to other scholars.
