Congratulations to Professor Helen Ennis, who had received the 2021 J Dudley Johnston Award from the Royal Photographic Society. The award is presented in recognition of major achievement in the field of photographic criticism or the history of photography and for sustained excellence over a period of time. Professor Ennis received the award for her major achievement in Australian photographic history,
publishing and her illustrious curatorial career.

Helen’s most recent publication was Olive Cotton: A life in photography, which received the 2020 Canberra Critics’ Circle Award for Biography, the University of Queensland Non Fiction Book Award, Queensland Literary Awards 2020, and the Magarey Medal for Biography for 2020.
