About our speaker

Dr Petra Kayser is Curator of Prints and Drawings at the NGV, which encompasses 28,000 works on paper, from medieval illuminated manuscripts to contemporary art.

Her special interests include the production, iconography and reception of early modern prints, and the relationship between art and science in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

She has curated and co-curated numerous exhibitions, including The four horsemen: Apocalypse, death and disaster in early modern Europe (2012), Jim Dine: A life in print (2017), Goya: Drawings from the Prado Museum (2021) and Rembrandt: True to life (2023).
