Symposium — Photographic CulturesBased at the University of Sydney the Photographic Cultures Research Group partners with the Art and the Document Research Cluster at Sydney College of the Arts to profile research into the photographic.

The Photography.Ontology.Symposium takes place on 2 and 3 June 2016 at the University of Sydney.

Photography.Ontology.Symposium. engages in critical debate with international scholars and specialists on the photographic medium. It will explore the relationship between photography’s ontology, the camera as a human perceptual apparatus and the unconscious through themes of evidence, the archive, photographic practice and theory.
