The AAANZ’s annual conference is an important event for art scholars in the region. It is a unique opportunity to meet and network with scholars from across Australia and New Zealand, and to present research in a formal setting. We realise, however, that costs of attending conferences can be high, often prohibitively so. The conference organisers have therefore worked to make available a number of bursaries to help offset these costs.

How to apply

All applications are due by 31 August 2021.

To apply, visit Select which of the listed bursaries you would like to apply for. Further bursary options will be announced soon.

You will then be asked to submit the following:

  • An abstract outlining your proposed presentation at AAANZ21 (200 words).
  • A current CV (2 pages).
  • A short bio (100 words).
  • A budget setting out your anticipated costs of attending the conference (1 page).
  • All applications will be assessed by a panel comprising representatives from the sponsoring organisations listed below.

For successful applicants to receive their bursary, they must be an AAANZ Member, and be a Panel Convenor or have been accepted by a Panel Convenor to present a paper at the AAANZ21 Conference.
